Design and Technology
At Hilltop we follow the DATA (Design and Technology Association) Projects on a Page scheme which is based on the programmes of study outlined in the National Curriculum:
Cooking and Nutrition
Through a variety of creative and practical activities, pupils are taught the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to engage in an iterative process of designing and making. They work in a range of relevant contexts e.g. the home, school, leisure, culture, enterprise, industry and the wider environment. In providing a context, it gives a purpose for the designing and making.

Progression in Core Knowledge and Skills
Progression in core and disciplinary knowledge for our DT curriculum is outlined in the documents below.
Our DT knowledge organisers identify the core knowledge we expect all our children to know once they have finished a component of study.
